Hi. I saw your community featured in the 50 best planned communities for retirement. My husband and I have loved North Carolina for over 20 years, and are thinking of retiring there in another year. We have not visited New Bern, but have heard many good things about the city, and now about Carolina Colours.

Can you tell me when you expect the Retail Town Center to be built, and until it is built where do people shop for groceries, pharmaceuticals, etc.?

Also, i do not see properties that are for sale — just floor plans. Where can I see the wooded properties (lot and alreadfy built homes) that are for sale?

Thank you for your comment and also for registering on our web site. I will send you our “Discover New Bern” package which is a great way to see New Bern and visit our community. We do have a Retail Towne Center planned and our anchor store, Harris Teeter has a lease which starts in 2014, so we expect some activity next year. In the interim, there is another Harris Teeter (and several pharmacies) about 10 minutes away and a Food Lion just a few miles from Carolina Colours.
