Blood Drive this coming Wednesday at Carolina Colours.

The American Red Cross has a critical need for blood donors to give now to help address a winter blood donation shortage caused by severe winter weather and widespread flu.  More than 100 blood drives have been forced to cancel due to winter weather so far in February, causing over 3,600 blood donations to go uncollected. The blood supply is still recovering from a critical blood shortage in January, when severe winter storms forced hundreds of blood drive cancellations, causing more than 17,500 blood donations to go uncollected.

While thousands of people have responded to the call for donations, severe winter weather in many parts of the country has prolonged the shortage.  Blood donations are being distributed to hospitals faster than they come in. If you would like to schedule an appointment, please visit www.redcrossblood.org.  Our mission is to collect 25 units and to save 75 lives. Don’t forget to save time by doing RapidPass!
