Events at Carolina Colours
Although primarily used by the owners within Carolina Colours, the Carolina Colours Association has benefited greatly by the revenue generated by allowing use of the Pavilion by third parties, helping to keep the Association dues going to maintain the facility and its staff surprisingly low. The natural beauty of the building and its external vistas continues to attract area residents and businesses for special events, from weddings to corporate outings. Of course, member functions from the large social holiday gatherings to small private birthday parties are the norm.
Whether the need is for a small conference room for 10 to 50, or a large meeting room for 50-200, the Pavilion at Carolina Colours is perfect. Education and information can be shared in a comfortable environment. Patios are perfect for break time, and golf can be incorporated either before or after the function. Snacks can be provided, or meals can be catered. Of course, where the purpose is social, whether a Christmas party or just a party, the bar can be open, bar tenders provided, and dancing accommodated. And, of course, all of these facilities and services are also available for member sponsored events both large and small. With a large and functional catering kitchen, events for 200 or 20 can include food service from fine dining to a casual sandwich or salad. Many excellent New Bern area restaurants are approved to cater events at Carolina Colours, and regularly do so. Our very own Chef Katherine is a jewel. Not only does she weekly provide a three course meal for the Friday night dinner gathering, but she also prepares sumptuous sandwiches daily for our snack bar. It is impossible to leave her table hungry, and dieters beware desserts that are to kill for!
Chef Katherine is also available to our residents for in home entertaining, for groups large and small, whether desserts, multiple course meals or finger food, at very reasonable costs. In home hospitality, a common occurrence amongst our Carolina Colours friends, could not be easier. If Chef Katherine is fixing the food, count on few declining an invitation.
The Carolina Colours Pavilion is in great demand for both weddings and wedding receptions. Whether overlooking the lake or within the ball room, formal or informal, large or small, this special occasion will be enhanced by selecting such a gorgeous facility. With golf available for the wedding party and guests, and our general manager familiar with working with wedding planners and non-professionals, coordination and communication are always first rate. Carolina Colours has hosted weddings from very formal to quite informal, with open bars, cash bars and no bar at all. Our objective is to present the site and framework that best suits both budget and personality. And don’t forget, our own Chef Katherine can bake a wedding cake that will be remembered nearly as long as the ceremony itself.
Since available dates are limited and many are booked far in advance, it is highly recommended that bookings be made early. A number of unhappy brides have been turned away this year, and next year’s dates are already being booked.
