On Site Amenities

Natural Setting
Perhaps the best amenities are those that occur naturally. Blessed with a forested site, bisected by Brice Creek, and with abundant preserved wetlands and good topography, simply living within and moving throughout Carolina Colours is a pleasure. With community parks and natural areas set aside and providing great views of the 25 acre Carolina Lake, and with pedestrian, bike and golf cart routes readily available, one is likely to see more people than cars while strolling along.

Pavilion
The social and recreational center of Carolina Colours, and with architecture reminiscent of a traditional southern coastal living retreat, residents are constantly in and out. With some 17,000 square feet of heated space, plus patios that overlook the water that adjoins the 9th green of the golf course, it is easy to see why the Pavilion is such a popular gathering spot. With venues for many purposes, from large gatherings to small lectures, for individual fitness and organized activities, for socializing or having a drink, this multi-purpose facility, available to all owners, is the perfect complement to the casual coastal life style attractive to many.

Golf
Carolina Colours is not, and was never intended to be, a “Country Club.” However, its golf course would be the envy of many such clubs, as it is quickly becoming recognized as the best layout, with the best conditioned greens, in the region.

Pool and Tennis
The resident population in Carolina Colours has grown sufficiently to support the construction of both a swimming pool and tennis courts. Current plans call for the pool to be open for the summer of 2013, with tennis not far behind. With a zero entrance feature for easy access and sufficient swimming lanes for competition or lap swimming for exercise, and with shaded and unshaded lounging areas designed, swimmers and loungers alike will enjoy this venue, just across the parking area from the Pavilion. And the first two tennis courts will be soft and self-watering, to preserve the knees of the young and old alike.

Commercial
With Harris Teeter, an upscale grocer, having contracted to open a store in the Carolina Colours commercial center, construction of it is scheduled to begin in 2013, with it and other shops opening in 2014. Under the direction of Swain and Associates of Wilmington, a highly successful commercial developer for over 39 years, an attractive center has been designed to accommodate a variety of shops, restaurants and service facilities. With easy access by car, bike or golf cart, life’s necessities and conveniences will be minutes from home, with no concern for the traffic of any major thoroughfare. BB&T, a prominent regional bank, already has in place a retail banking office, adjacent to the Carolina Colours Welcome Centre. Keep an eye on the Carolina Colours blog, found through the “happenings” menu tab, for the announcements of new commitments to our commercial center, and for other real estate news.
