Newcomers of New Bern

Welcome to New Bern!

When moving to a new community, making friends and getting comfortable can have its challenges.

The Newcomers Club of New Bern is here to help

The club has welcomed thousands of residents to the area since 1987. Through the club’s monthly meetings and over 20 club activity groups, the club provides an easy and fun way to make new friends and learn about this great community we call home.

The Newcomers Club of New Bern meets at 7 p.m., at the Harrison Center, 311 Middle Street, in downtown New Bern, on the second Thursday of the each month except in July, August and December.  Annual dues are very affordable at $15 per person.

Monthly Club meetings offer a variety of programs which include guest performers and  speakers who present information the community. Past meetings have featured talks on local history, hurricane preparedness and Q and A’s with local civic leaders. Meetings  also include time to get acquainted with fellow newcomers and to learn about the many social activity groups the Club has to offer.

The Club offers many activities to its members including Biking, Day Trips, Golf, Crafting, a Book Club, a Writers’ Club, a photo walk, Tennis, Pickle Ball and Wine Socials.

Dozens of residents of Carolina Colours have been and are part of the Newcomers Club.  In fact over the last several years, many members of the club’s volunteer board of directors (including a club president) were from  Carolina Colours. The club held its annual holiday dance and dinner at the Carolina Colours Pavilion in 2022.
